Kashmir Traders stages protest against GST

SRINAGAR: Scores of traders under the banner of Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) stages a protest demonstration in city center Lalchowk against  Goods and Services Tax (GST) today.

The protesting traders who assembled at Historic ‘Ghatnta Ghar’ were shouting slogans, One nation, One tax is not acceptable.

Meanwhile in view of call given by Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) for the valley-wide protests and shutdown, all shops and other business establishments were shut in valley.

Jammu and Kashmir is the only state yet to make a final call on the GST as the country’s biggest tax reform was rolled out past midnight Friday. The state government has called for a special session of the legislature from July 4 to discuss the implementation of the reform.

Meanwhile authorities imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar city to prevent protests against the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Jammu and Kashmir.
