2 absconders evading arrest for over 3 decades arrested in Baramulla: Police

Srinagar: Continuing its crackdown against absconders, Police in Baramulla on Tuesday said to have arrested two absconders who were evading their arrests from three decades.

 

A Police Party of Police Station Kunzer arrested two absconders namely Showkat Ahmad Shah son of Ab Majeed resident of Wagenpora Srinagar & Showkat Ahmad Makhdoomi son of Mohd Yaseen resident of Makhdoom Sahab Srinagar. They were involved in case FIR No. 296/1998 under section 224 RPC & 308/1999 under section 420 RPC of Police Station Pattan, a police spokesman said in a statement issued.

 

“Warrant of arrest was issued by the Hon’ble Court of Sub Judge JMIC Tangmarg against them respectively. They were evading their arrests since 1998 & 1999 respectively. Both the arrested absconders were produced before the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Tangmarg,” the statement said.

 

Police is implementing rigorous measures to ensure that all individuals who are absconding their arrests are apprehended and held accountable for their criminal actions. This dedication to combating Crime will remain steadfast, police said—(KNO)
