Editor-in-Chief ‘Roznama Subh-e-Kashmir’ Nazir Ahmad Wani Passes Away

Srinagar: Nazir Ahmad Wani, Editor-in-Chief of ‘Roznama Subh-e-Kashmir’ passed away on Saturday morning. He was 63.

A close relative of Wani told that Wani was suffering from a kidney ailment for the last many years and eventually breathed his last at SKIMS Soura today.

Wani, who earned a name in the media field for his incisive reporting went on to launch his own newspaper titled ‘Roznama Subh-e-Kashmir’. He also served as President of the ‘Editor Association Srinagar’ for several years.

Wani, an actual resident of Gundmancher Lolab in Kupwara, had shifted to Peerbagh Srinagar and residing here for almost four decades now.

The funeral prayers to the departed soul are to be held at native Gundmancher Lolab – the timing of which was yet to be decided, while this report was being drafted.

Meanwhile people from cross sections of society have condoled the demise of Nazir Ahmad Wani. Among the prominent people who condoled the demise of Wani included; Editor-in-Chief Kashmir Press Service (KPS) Raja Mohuidin, Editor-in-Chief GNS news agency & Kashmir Glory Rehan Showkat, Former Assistant Director Food & Civil Supplies Ashraf Nissar Wani, J&K Apni Party Provincial Joint Secretary Abdul Raheem Wani, Former MLC & JKNC leader Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, DDC Member Sogam Nasir Nazir Lone and other political leaders and religious scholars.
