Urges workers to reach out to voters

KULGAM: Member Parliament Nazir Ahmed Laway today said that Peoples Democratic Party was the only political organisations in Jammu and Kashmir with strong vision and commitment for peace, prosperity and development of the state.

Addressing an election meeting at Chawalgam, Kulgam the Member Parliament asked workers to reach out to the people to garner vote and support in favour of Tasaduq Mufti, the party candidate for Anantnag-Pulwama constituency.

He said that National Conference has surrendered its identity and party structure to Congress in South Kashmir knowing that it cannot stand against the PDP and its policy and programmes. “The Congress-NC combine has been responsible for all the mess in Jammu and Kashmir. The present situation is the outcome of their anti-people and corrupt activities which ultimately pushed the youth of state to wall”, he said adding the PDP is strong votary of reconciliation and dialogue and will push its agenda with New Delhi.

The party entered into alliance with Congress in 2002 not for the power but with an agenda to serve the people. “The agenda was implemented giving relief to the masses. The three years of government under the leadership of the then Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayed is still considered as the golden era of state. Unfortunately the achievements were reversed when Congress took over the reign of power”, he added.

Laway described Tasaduq Mufti as a man with vision who has joined politics only to serve the masses. “He has left a comfortable life in order to carry forward the mission of his father and family. Now it’s our responsibility to ensure his win with huge margins”, he told the workers.

The meeting was attended by huge gathering of workers and Zonal President Kulgam Farooq Ah Rather, Block President Pumbay Hilal Ah Zargar and Block President Behibag Feroz Ah Shah among other.
