Journalists thrashing row:  KEG decides to boycott Police

SRINAGAR:  While strongly objecting the police behaviour with media persons, day in and day out across Kashmir valley, especially in the backdrop of recent police assault on photojournalists, at Hyderpora, Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG), Saturday decided not to publish any press statement, advertisements or to attend any function of police as a mark of protest against the police highhandedness.

During a lengthy meeting the Guild demanded strict action against the erring police officer and apology from the police authorities.

According to Guild decision until that no police press notes or advertisements will be published.

Pertinently, several photojournalists were assaulted and manhandled by police at Hyderpora when they were performing their professional duties.
