Srinagar : A woman died at SKIMS Srinagar on Saturday. She had been admitted in the hospital for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.
Nodal Officer for Coronavirus at SKIMS, Dr Ghulam Hasan Itoo told news agency KNT that the 55 year old woman didn’t die of Covid-19 but the basic reason for her death was acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) which is a type of respiratory failure characterized by rapid onset of widespread inflammation in the lungs. The symptoms of this disease include shortness of breath, rapid breathing, and bluish skin coloration.
“The woman from Baigengo Anantnag was admitted in the hospital for ARDS and not for Covid-19, however, here in hospital she was tested positive for the Covid-19 as well,” Dr Itoo added (KNT).
