Traffic to ply from Jammu to Srinagar
Srinagar: The Meteorological department Wednesday forecasted light rains in the plains while the upper reaches of Kashmir would receive moderate snowfall from Thursday till Friday afternoon.
Director Meteorological department Kashmir, Sonam Lotus told JKNS that they were expecting another spell of light to moderate rains in the plains and snowfall over next 24 to 36 hours in the higher reaches of Jammu Kashmir and also in some parts of Ladakh.
“The inclement weather will start from Thursday in some places of J&K and continue till Friday and thereafter decrease gradually,” he said.
Lotus said some places in Jammu region may experience thunderstorms on Thursday and rainfall may lead to landslides in along Srinagar-Jammu highway.
Meanwhile, a Traffic department official said there would be a one-way traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Friday and the passage of vehicles would be allowed from Jammu toward Srinagar.
“No vehicles will be allowed from the opposite direction,” the official said.(JKNS)
