Water Shortage: Drass village protest against Kargil administration

Drass: Locals in Drass area of Kargil Tuesday staged a protest against water scarcity. The locals from Holiyal village hit to roads and blocked the traffic. They said Kargil Administration failed to provide regular water supply to the villagers.

“We have been suffering badly. We don’t have any drinking water and are being forced to use water from nallahs,” the protesters said.

SDM Drass Asgar Hussain told that pipes were frozen and some were damaged due to minus temperature and it affected water supply. “We are trying best to restore water supply to the affected village,” he said. (KNT)
