SRINAGAR: Hajj pilgrims from Srinagar allegedly facing immense hardships in Saudi Arabia. In a viral video on social sites, some of the pilgrims are clearly heard talking about their hardships like lack of accommodation and assistance from the state government.
However it was not immediately known whether these Hajj pilgrims have gone to pilgrimage through government or private agency. What is more ironical that they are seen unattended and left on God’s mercy which has affected their religious affair.
One person identifying himself as Abdul Maji Khan, a resident of Beerwah Budgam in a viral video said, “I have no room. It has been four days since we are here. We have spent last three days on streets under the open sky. His wife is also seen in the video crying over the hardship they are facing.”
Another Hajj pilgrim identifying himself as Abdul Rasheed of Chanapora area of Srinagar said, “We have no accommodation. I have my wife with me and we are suffering here. We failed to even perform out religious duty for which we are here”.
When asked about the issue, a Hajj house official said, “Some self inflicted defame by some Haji Sahiban of J&K grabs accommodation of fellow pilgrims that has put them to discomfort. He said that it was a personnel issue between the two groups adding that the matter has been sorted out.
When contacted Executive officer, State Hajj committee Srinagar, he did not respond the repeated calls of the PTK news agency.
