Five leaders fail to submit reply over explanation letter
Srinagar: As the hectic efforts are on to structure a new political podium in Jammu and Kashmir, the Congress here has issued explanation letter to at least five of its members including the former ministers. However, some leaders, who claimed to have resigned from their respective positions, have so far failed to submit any formal resignation letter to the party, sources said.
According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), sources within the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) said that explanation letter have been issued against the five members for going against the directives and principles of party high command. The leaders as per sources include Usman Majid, Shoiab Lone, Hilal Shah, Farooq Andrabi, Channi Singh.
Sources said that the last date of submitting the reply over explanation letter was February 24, adding that none among the five leaders submitted the reply so far.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, Ghulam Ahmad Mir told—KNO that he has not received any resignation letter from any party leader so far. “We have come to know through media reports that some among the leaders have announced their resignation, but, we have not received any resignation letter from them so far,” he said.
He also admitted that the leaders have not yet submitted the reply over the show-cause notice issued against them—(KNO)
