Welcomes Rs 35,581.44 budget allocation for J&K; Thanks Union Finance Minister for showing keen interest in J&K UT, its key areas

Srinagar, Feb 04: Senior BJP leader and party’s J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur while hailing the Budget 2023 stated that the budget has a vision, structure, discipline and all alms for the poor and farmers.
“The budget presented by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman puts India on the path to become the world champion. The budget is all set to score goals on infra development, consumption and inclusion. The budget is a big boost for domestic manufacturing and job creation,” Thakur said in a statement to Kashmir Patriot.
Thakur said that the Rs 10 lakh Crore investment in infrastructure will new speed to development. “The incentives for green growth in the budget will provide impetus to green economy, green infrastructure and green jobs for a sustainable future amid global efforts to combat climate change,” Thakur said, adding that the budget will revive the rural economy in India as well as Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. “The budget will fulfil dreams of aspirational society including poor people, middle-class people and farmers. Deprived lot has been given priority in it.”
Thakur said it was appreciable that the GDP increased up to 7 percent while as in the past nine years, the income of every citizen increases to a satisfactory level. He said the announcement of new tax regime under which individual tax rebate has been increased to Rs 7 lakh rupees while as they come above Rs 9 lakh and upto Rs 12 lakh will be taxed at 15 percent.
He hailed the announcement of a maximum deposit limit for senior citizens, enhanced up to Rs 30 lakh. He said it was a major decision that the stipend support has been increased to 47 lakh youth across the country. He said that KYC has been simplified which deserves applauds while as free ration poor will be given for one year. Thakur hailed the announcement of 50 new airports and loan waiver to farmers for one-year.
Thakur also welcomed the budget allocation to J&K UT. According to the Budget papers, Rs 35,581.44 crore has been allocated to Jammu and Kashmir, of which Rs 33,923 crore is central assistance. This allocation is substantially lower than the current fiscal’s revised estimate of Rs 44,538.13 crore. The central assistance given to the union territory is to meet the resource gap and a special fiscal support of Rs 9,486.13 crore. The BJP leader thanked the Union Minister for Finance for showing keen interests towards J&K and focussing on key areas of the UT.
