Undergraduate students’ stages protest against KU, demands relaxation in syllabus

SRINAGAR: Scores of undergraduate students Tuesday assembled at Pratap Park in Srinagar staged a protest demonstration against Kashmir University administration.

Protesting students were demanding relaxation in syllabus for upcoming joint examination of their 5th and 6th semesters. The protesting students said that since the examination for the 5th and 6th semester are being held jointly; the syllabus should therefore be deducted by 50 percent.

Protesting students while talking to Press trust of Kashmir said that they are not want relaxation in Examination and syllabus.

A protesting girl student said, “We have not completed the syllabus of 5th semester yet. leave alone starting the 6th semester. Exams for both are two months away. This will be very difficult for us”.

Another girl student told that university is in a mess adding that the students are suffering as they failed to conduct exams in time. She added that they want relaxation of 50% in syllabus.

Students also said that the results of the first semester have not been declared yet which they demand must be declared immediately.

Meanwhile, a protest was also held by students of Boys Degree College Anantnag demanding the relaxation in the syllabus for upcoming joint examination of their fifth and sixth semesters.

Scores of students assembled outside the administration block of the college to register their protest. (PTK)
