Srinagar : Martyrs of Kashmir are shining stars in Kashmir resistance movement. How much time will India continue to suppress Kashmiris people with the help of military might?
Addressing to a United Jihad Council conference in Muzaffarabad on Monday, UJC chief Syed Salahuddin remembered the victims of Gawkadal Massacre and Handwara massacre and paid rich tributes to them.
In an emailed statement to VMS, spokesperson UJC Syed Sadaqat Hussain quoting Salahudin said that “Even after 19 years since the massacres, the memories of our martyrs is alive in our hearts. That day isn’t far when the sacred blood of our martyrs pays off and Kashmir will be free.”
He also said that in 1990, Governor Jagmohan unleashed a reign of terror on Kashmiris thinking that they will accept the Indian rule but it didn’t work.
“They expected that Kashmiris will stop dreaming about freedom but on the contrary, the spilled blood gave birth to thousands of militants,” he argued.
While expressing serious concerns over the pathetic condition of Kashmiris languishing in Indian jails, he said,
“Kashmiri prisoners in Indian jails in general and in Tihar jail in particular are living in sub human conditions. Leaders like Shabbir Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar and Peer Saifullah are extremely ill but they are denied proper treatment,”
He also urged international human rights bodies to highlight the plight of Kashmiri prisoners and pressurize the Indian Government to uplift the human rights of the prisoners.(VMS)
