No arrests made during search operation
Shopian : No contact with militants was established during a cordon and search operation here in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The cordon and search operation was launched in different adjacent villages of the district after the militants fired upon a CRPF armoured vehicle on Sunday morning.
Sources told news agency KNT that search operations were called off after no contact with any militant was established. Militants had managed to escape from the spot after targeting a mobile bunker vehicle of 14 Battalion CRPF.
Police sources said that militants fired upon the CRPF deployment near Sanigal Bridge of Shopian. The bullets struck the mobile vehicle and a tyre of the vehicle was flattened, however no injury or loss of life was reported. This month Shopian district witnessed a single gunfight in Amshipora area in which 3 alleged militants were killed. (KNT)
