On the night intervening between 05/06 March 2021, a specific information was recieved by Kulgam Police from reliable sources that one vehicle (Santro Car) bearing registration number JK04-9750 coming from Banihal towards Qazigund in which illegally kept arms and ammunition are being transported.
On tip off a Naka at Jawahar Tunnel was established by Kulgam Police, 9RR and 24 Bn of CRPF and the said car was intercepted in which two persons namely:-
Mohd Danish S/O Shamshad Ahmad R/O Taipura Village, Raja ka Tajpur, Bijnoor, Uttar Pradesh &
Nawshad S/O Mohd Yunus R/O Shahabpura, Ratansing Kirtarpur, Bijnoor Uttar Pradesh were on board. During checking officers present were able to recover 01 Pistol and 20 rounds from their possession.
Both the persons were arrested and vehicle used in commission of crime was seized. Regarding the incident, Case FIR No. 40/2021 U/S 7/25 I A Act stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up.
