Handwara : Transporters have started service to tourist destination Bungus in Kupwara to further boost the footfall of visitors and make travel more convenient.
Located in the higher ranges of the Shamsbari mountains at an altitude of 10,000 ft above sea level, Bungus Valley apart from natural breathtaking beauty is surrounded by mountains.
transporters from Handwara said that the road towards Bungus was carved through woods with a breathtaking beauty.
“Transport facility will be available from morning till evening. Passengers will be facilitated in every manner. There is no best route other than traveling through the Mawer belt,” said members of the Kohinoor Sumo stand.
They said that the facilities like huts and toilets need to be constructed for a better tourist experience.
“Tourism department and concerned LBDDA authorities must initiate concrete steps to ensure the footfall of tourists increases. Bungus has a lot of potential to offer but needs immediate attention,” they said.
GM Poshpori a local said that not only can Bungus develop as the first choice tourist destination and can provide livelihood to hundreds of people if it is developed in a well-mannered pattern.
Last week reported that the LBDDA is scheduled to pitch tents in Bungus. A Bungud mega mela is scheduled to be organised in July.
