Srinagar : Scores of traders in city center held a protest march against the assault on Kashmiris across India.
Witness said traders on Friday lowered their shutters in Lal Chowk and the adjoining markets to protest against the assault of Kashmiri traders, students in the fallout of Pulwama attack.
As the clock struck 3:30 PM the traders started lowering their shutters an eyewitness said.
The traders who later took out a protest march demanded security of Kashmiris living outside the state.
They were holding placards that read “shame of civilized society”, “stop harassing Kashmiris,” amid slogans.
“Social media is full of videos where innocent Kashmiris are assaulted on daily basis, what is our fault,” a trader told Valley Media Service.
“It is unfortunate that no action is being taken against such goons, whenever anyone visits Kashmir, everyone makes sure that they feel home, we have never done such things to non-Kashmiri traders working here from decades,” he said.
