Welcomes India, Pakistan agreement to houner 2003 ceasefire 

SRINAGAR: President Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil on Thursday welcomed the agreement by DGMOs of India and Pakistan to “fully implement” the ceasefire pact of 2003 and stop cross border firings. Vakil said that the ceasefire agreement should be followed by a comprehensive sustainable dialogue process.
He hoped that all the parties-India, Pakistan and Hurriyat should respond positively and carve out ways for meaningful dialogue so that the prevailing bloodshed ends in Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, Vakil said it would bring great relief to the people of the state having peace on the borders was the first essential step to “a larger understanding” and expressed hope that it would sustain.
“I welcome the much needed move and reiterate that these welcome measures bring great relief to the people residing in the vicinity,” Vakil said.
Vakil reiterated that the government of India should send a formal invitation to Kashmiri separatists, if they are sincere in dialogue.
Making just a statement doesn’t make it a formal invitation; Vakil said the GoI should send a formal invitation to all the stakeholders especially separatists.
The mere statements doesn’t make invitation, New Delhi must send invitation if the government of India mean it, Vakil added.
He said PDP ad NC will not open their card as both these parties have a secret pact for rotation of power. “They would never wish this issue get resolved. They are responsible for lingering on this Kashmir. They are creating a double role,” he said.
