SRINAGAR: Tight arrangements have been put in place for the polling tomorrow in Srinagar Parliamentary constituency. Reports said that frisking and search operations in view of recent militant attacks and separatists boycott call is seen at many places leading to Srinagar and areas within city.
Reports also added that the security forces, particularly Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police, have intensified their patrolling and checking to foil any attempt to to disturb the polling.
Separatist leaders, including both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), remained either under house arrest or detention in police station to prevent them from holding anti-poll campaign.
Reports said that barricades have been erected by the security forces , Sonawar and Gupkar Road where vehicles are being stopped , searched and passengers identity cards are checked before allowing them to go.it adds another naka is established on Moulana Azad Road, Batmaloo, Hyderpora.
Officials said that additional security forces remained have been deployed in the city to maintain law and order and prevent any attempt by militant’s activity.
