SRINAGAR: Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen Thursday observed ‘International Womens Day’ as ‘Black Day’ and sought justice to the families of those girls killed by Government Forces in Kashmir Valley.
Zamrooda Habib, the chairperson KTK led the protest. The female protesters carrying placards and banners assembled here in Press Enclave Srinagar.
The placards in the hands of protesters depicted the photographs of various female victims including University student Shaista Hameed, Sikh girl Ratandeep Kaur, Maisar mother of baby Maryam, nomad girl Asifa and others.
On the occasion, Zamrooda Habib told CNS that when world talks about security and safety of womens on this day, the women in Kashmir are being gunned down and children are being orphaned. “Who will give justice to the families of these girls and mothers who were killed in cold blood by government forces in Kashmir Valley,” she said and added that it looks absurd when some women on the behest of government are observing this day with fervor in Kashmir Valley.
