SRINAGAR: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai’s son Junaid has reportedly joined the militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.

Although no media reports have come out in this regard, sources told Kashmir Newsline that the news is authentic and Junaid is already a part of the outfit. Junaid’s decision to join Hizb-ul-Mujahideen comes on the heels of his father taking over the reins of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat from the veteran leader and Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Sehrai is an old associate of Geelani and a seasoned basic member of Jamat-e-Islami.

A senior police officer talking to Newsline on the condition of anonymity said that there is every likelihood that the news is authentic. According to the cop, police have filed a missing report on the request of the family.
