Srinagar: In Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, a Grade-II teacher named Fiaz Ahmed has been suspended for criticizing government policies and disseminating classified information.
The suspension, announced on Saturday, came after Ahmed uploaded a video on social media showcasing the dilapidated state of Government Middle School, Draman, where he worked.
The video, which highlighted the poor condition of the school, including unsafe accommodation, threats to student safety, and inadequate staff, led to swift action from the authorities.
Chief Education Officer (Doda) Prakash Lal Thappa confirmed the suspension, stating that a detailed project report (DPR) had been requested from the Public Works Department for the immediate renovation of the school.
“The teacher was suspended on Friday,” Thappa said, “while a DPR was sought for urgent repairs of the school building.”
The suspension order criticized Ahmed for not preventing an unauthorized person from entering the school premises and for sharing confidential information publicly. The order also noted that Ahmed’s explanation, requested on June 6, was found to be unsatisfactory and unreliable—(KNO)
