Srinagar :Divisional administration Kashmir has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the supply of contaminated IV Fluids and injections from a fair price shop inside district hospital Anantnag.
Talking to GNS Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan said that he ensured that the fair price shop was sealed immediately, underlining no compromise shall be made with such incidents that have a telling effect on overall patient care.
“As soon as I read the GNS report, I immediately ordered closure of the FP shop and ensured it was sealed forthwith,” Khan said, adding, “I have directed Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to conduct an inquiry and submit a report in this regard so as to take strict action possible against people involved in such inhuman practice and I assure people that whosoever whether a private party or government employee shall not be spared and strict action as warranted under the law will be taken in this regard. We will ensure a charge sheet is filed in this case sooner than later”.
As reported yesterday Medical Superintendent of Mirza Mohd Afzal Beg Memorial Hospital Anantnag, Dr Abdul Majeed Mehrib ordered constitution of a committee of doctors to probe into the incident and also communicated to Director Health Services Kashmir to stop the supply of IV fluids supply of IV fluid with the brand name EP Eurolife (having batch no EPE705). The action followed following a written complaint by one Basharat Ahmad that the FP shop has dispensed contaminated injection Isollyte P. (Eurolife- EP).
Basharat talking to GNS said that the injections were provided to him at par with the market price, notwithstanding announcement on the display board that medicines would be provided at 5 percent discount. (GNS)
