Stranded Kashmiri passangers in Jammu demands evacuation

​JAMMU : Scores of stranded passengers hailing from diffrent parts  of Kashmir  Valley while expressing their plight due to the continuous closure of Jammu-Srinagar highway urged the Governor Sataya Malik to arrange their evacuation.

While talking to Kashmir Patriot a group of stranded passangers told that they want administration to seek help of Indian Air Force for evacuation of thousands of passengers who are desperate to reach to their respective destinations.

Reports suggest that there are thousands of passengers who are stuck at various places on Srinagar, Jammu National Highway and in Jammu city are distressed to reach their destination without any further delay.

They said that they have already run  short of money besides Airfares are huge which they are unable  to efford. They seek personal intervention of the Governor to seek help from Indian Air Force to airlift these stranded passengers that include elderly persons, women, children.

Stranded people in distress said that due to frequent landslides and shooting stones, the authorities manning National Highway are unable to facilitate its smooth opening very soon for vehicular traffic. 

“We are stuck here in Jammu from last one week now. We are not able to afford  airfare as it is too high. If  highway is not opening soon  we are in serious trouble . We want in this situation the administration must deal with the crisis of stranded passengers”, they said.
