Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Kashmir media in-charge, Manzoor Bhat on Friday welcomed the release of former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Farooq Abdullah after seven-month incarceration. However, he said that the leader should not befool people by claiming that he will raise voice in the parliament.
In a statement issued to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bhat said that the leader soon after being released has claimed that he will raise voice in the parliament, but one fails to understand that why this leader failed to raise genuine voice of people in parliament in last seven decades.
“Nobody has stopped Dr. Farooq Abdullah for raising the voice of people. But, how can people pin hope on him when he failed raise the genuine voice of people in last 70 years in the parliament,” Bhat said, adding that he is the same person who said in the past that whether people vote or not, he will still be the parliamentarian.
“I welcome his release, but at the same time his statement to media is putting question mark over his leadership,” he said.
Bhat further suggested Dr. Abdullah to resign from politics and let the new and young faces come forward to serve the people. “The old leaders like him never played politics for the wellbeing of people but only for their personal interests,” he said.
