Militants fired upon an army patrolling party in Gundipura area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
As per local sources, the army retaliated to the fire, leading to a brief shootout. However, there was no report of any loss of life or injuries.
The whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, they said.
Police, on the other hand, denied the attack on the army patrolling party.
A senior police official said that army men fired few rounds after noticing suspicious movement.
