Sopore : Shafia Maqbool from Nageen Bagh, Sopore north Kashmir Baramulla district has fulfilled her dreams despite hardships and immense domestic issues. She has cracked Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) and secured rank 13th in the merit list, making her parents feel proud.
While speaking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), she said since two years she was preparing for KAS exam and at the end she finally succeeded in fulfilling her dream.
“I completed my schooling from Sopore school after which I completed engineering in information and technology from Jammu. I got myself prepared for M.Tech and then started dreaming about civil service. I belong to a modest family and didn’t have all the resources for cracking the civil services, but yet I did it with the prayers of my parents,” said Shafia amid a gentle smile.
This was the second attempt by Shafia to crack the civil services exam. “My first attempt was in 2015 but at that point of time, I couldn’t make it,” she said.
Since the declaration of her results, her small house is abuzz with the visitors, relatives, well-wishers and neighbours, who come to felicitate this young girl home is brimming over with visitors like relatives, neighbours and others congratulating her.
She said despite the hardship, credit for her success goes to her family solely. “She said the first major challenge to prepare for civil services was network blockade and then slow speed of the internet. But I kept on walking on the path with the prayers of my parents in my hand and I finally got what I cherished for,” said Shafia amid a smile—(KNO)
