SRINAGAR: The tall claims of the government regarding the governance amid digital India slogans seems falling flat as the all most major websites of the state government are either defunct or facing a technical snag.
Most importantly, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) is facing an unattended technical snag since long, which has rendered people to suffer.
Armaan Khan, who wanted to submit requisite documents for building permission, said that from last fifteen days he is visiting the SMC office for the said purpose, but he is being sent back by the officials due to technical snag.
Another visitor at SMC who was supposed to provide some documents to be uploaded online said that the department is only claiming to make thing online and easy but, they fail to maintain the online services.
The R&B website is also facing the same fate. The website is not working properly and even if it works the loading is very slow to get the work done. “These websites have no heavy traffic. Still the loading is very slow a hosting of these websites is not dedicated. The government websites must have a genuine developer and website service provider who look after the technical issues for the convenience of general public”, said a developer.
