SHOPIAN: Pledging to work for the environmental degradation, a group of local youth from District Shopian, mainly of students and businessmen called for an open meeting today regarding the alarming rise of environmental disturbance in the Shopian Town .
In the coarse of meeting, the horrific rise in hazardous environmental violations were highlighted and discussed. The meeting was hosted by the cafe owner Irfan Saleem Zargar The meeting was attended by about 20 youth.
A Local municipal park, in the vicinity of District Hospital Shopian, was quoted to have turned into a junkyard after the local municipality placed numerous Garbage dumpers in the park.
It was unanimously decided that the group needed to unite under a formulated body, which was later named as Gaash-a step towards dawn. It was decided in the meeting that an environmental drive will be started in near future aim to dispose the horrific environmental disturbances.
As an initiative towards the drive, Gaash has called for another open meeting on Sunday, Ist January 2017 on 11 AM sharp at Cafe Cosa Nostra, Near Tak Masjid Shopian. All concerned citizens are invited.
