Srinagar: Asking government to stop the practice of posting non local IAS and IPS officers in the state, Civil Society Coordination Committee has demanded that local KAS officers should be given more responsibility in the administration.
In a statement to KNS, JK CSCC member Muzaffar Ahmad Shah has said that the practice of installing non local IAS and IPS officers in the state since 1958 should come to halt now as the local KAS officers deserve much more responsibilities in the administration.
He said that in the current scenario 95% non local officers have occupied vital positions in the administration which is contrary to the provisions laid down in the article 370 which was later approved in 1952 Delhi agreement.
Meanwhile the other member of the Civil Society Coordination committee including Grand Deputy Nasir-ul-Islam, Sikh Federation Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina, Advocate Mir Javed, Advocate Yasmin Wani and Muzafar Shah have welcomed National Conference decision to stay away from local body polls.
They have urged other local political parties also to make their stand clear and said that all eyes of the public are on them. They said that unless petitions on 35-A are not rejected, the fight will continue. The Coordination Committee also criticized national security advisor Ajit Doval’s recent statement and suggested Doval to go through the pre and post 1947 Kashmir’s political history. (KNS)
