Srinagar: Ahead of the reopening of schools in the valley after the winter vacation, Srinagar traffic police authorities are geared up to ensure the smooth facilitation of school buses in the city.
Despite ongoing works by the Srinagar Smart City, which have posed challenges in commuting across several areas in the city, the traffic police said they are committed to ensuring unhindered traffic movement.
SSP Traffic Srinagar, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, said they are ready to tackle the challenges posed by ongoing projects, particularly the drainage work, which has affected traffic flow on certain corridors.
“As the schools are reopening gradually, with several exams scheduled, our primary focus remains on making commuting hassle-free for all,” he said.
The SSP said many projects of Srinagar Smart City are under execution, and due to ongoing drainage work, there are difficulties on those corridors. As schools are reopening now, it will happen gradually, considering the upcoming exams, he said.
Shah said the focus of the traffic police will be to ensure hassle-free commuting for all in the city. “We have identified areas that pose challenges to commuting and have devised strategies to ensure the smooth movement of traffic on those routes,” he said.
This proactive approach aims to minimise disruptions caused by the ongoing infrastructure projects while prioritising the safety and convenience of students and commuters, SSP Traffic said—(KNO)
