A book can be a best friend; yes we all go through this phrase once in a while. Well, apparently the last time we have read a book (out of curriculum) would be once in a blue moon and consequently, the value of a book and the value of its content is incessantly depleting and degrading at a fast pace. No doubt, the world is turning digital and no one would waste his precious time in turning the shaggy pages of an oblivion and obsolete book of any subject but the fact remains in its place to mention that, ‘would a digitalization of a content be comparable to a book?’; ‘would the reading in a digital gag like kindle replace the joy and curiosity poured upon a reader reading a manual book?’. The Quran being a book, revolutionized the whole of the world; if not Arabia. Even the Torah, Bible, Granth Sahib and Bagvad Geeta have formulated the Principle of Peace and Justice in a considerable part of the world population. The syllabus and the code of conduct of almost 6 billion people on earth is penned down in either of the books mentioned supra which in itself gives the book its appropriate place in the hearts of the people. I myself recently went through a couple of books namely The History of Kashmir and The Science of Ayurveda both being totally distant and arbitrary from each other but since a frequent reader would never be irrational and biased, thus with the result, I got to know both of my cultural identity and the value of the Herbal Science. Books teach Religion, Humanity, Peace, Current Affairs, History, Politics, Calculations, Social Life, Short Stories, Folklore’s, Ideologies, Legends, Warfare’s, Medicines, Moral Values etc, but the fact remains again that ‘do we want to cherish the taste of reading a book; do we want to feel the moment when time pauses for a reader during the curios scene in a book and whole of the picture comes underneath his eyes. Let’s just read a book, at least one book a month and polish our minds with it.
