Post Friday prayers clashes erupt in Sopore

SOPORE : Clashes erupted between youth and security forces post Friday congregational prayers in Sopore town of district Baramulla.

Reports said that a group of youth after the Friday prayers tried to take a protest march from Jamia Masjid area, amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans towards the main market of the town.

However the security forces deployed stopped them which resulted in stone pelting and clashes. Th protesting youth pelted stones at security forces, who resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the youth.

However, no reports of injuries have been reported so far.
