SRINAGAR: Even after the expiry of five months, government has not provided a single penny to Ghulam Muhammad Bhat also known as Madhosh Balhami, a Kashmiri poet and writer whose two story residential house was destroyed during an encounter between militants and government forces in March this year.
Bhat had not only lost the house but life’s treasure, his poetry of past 30 years.
Bhat told news agency CNS that he has been wandering from pillar to post from past five months, but the officials at District Magistrate Srinagar office are not taking his pleas seriously.
“Every time I visit the DC office Srinagar, the officials there tell me they are waiting from the report from the police and CID. I fail to understand, why CID and the police have not submitted their report,” Balhami said.
He appealed District Development Commissioner Srinagar and top police brass to expedite his case and grant him relief whatever deserves under law.
Pertinently, on March 15, Government Forces destroyed the house of Balhami after killing two militants in the encounter. (CNS)
