SRINAGAR : Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked-off Bharatiya Janata Party’s electoral campaign in Meerut by slamming the Opposition.
“Mere jawan hi mera saboot hai”, said PM Modi as he addressed the crowd. “Indian air Force carried out airstrikes across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack was carried out as a retaliation to Pulwama terror attacks which took lives of at least 40 CRPF men”, he said.
He added, “In such a context, the Opposition, especially leaders of the Congress raised questions on the airstrikes and demanded a proof of airstrikes”.
The demand met with severe criticism from the BJP camp. Several BJP leaders said that demanding proof of the airstrikes amounted to not trusting armed forces of the country.
On Thursday, PM Narendra Modi’s schedule involved rallies in Meerut (UP), Rudrapur (Uttarakhand) and Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir). (PTK)
