Peacs predicts hung parliament, BJP may emerge winner in J&K too

New Delhi : Platform for Election Analysis and Community Studies (PEACS) has predicted hung-parliament this time though four out of five exit polls conducted by English television channels along with agencies have predicted a thumping win for the BJP-led NDA for a second consecutive term in the Parliament.   
    For the Exit Poll, PEACS interviewed over 80,000 voters in 125 Parliamentary Constituencies. An official from PEACS said that out of 543, a total number of 125 Parliamentary Constituencies were selected at a random manner. 3200 polling station were selected for conducting interviews while at a polling station, around 25 interviews were randomly selected. 
   After analysis, it has come to fore that there may be a hung parliament. BJP led NDA may get 265 to 285 seats while UPA may get 135 to 125 seats. All India Trinamol Congress may emerge the single largest regional party and may bag 30 to 35 seats while SP and BSP may get 40 to 45 seats. 
  Only NewsX-NETA exit poll has predicted a hung Parliament while the Times Now-VMR, Republic-C Voter, and Republic-Jan Ki Baat, have all predicted a majority for the NDA, with many of them even going on to predict an absolute majority for the BJP alone 
   The PEACS in its Exit Poll for Jammu and Kashmir has claimed that PDP and NC may get 1 to 2 seats each, Indian National Congress 1 while BJP may get 2 to 3 seats for the Parliament. 
   In the 2014 Parliamentary elections, the BJP went comfortably past the halfway mark of 272 in the 543-member House, with 282 seats. (CNS)
