SRINAGAR: Senior PDP leader and former Member of Parliament Muzaffar Hussain Baig on Tuesday said that he was ready to join the third front if it takes the shape of a political force in Jammu and Kashmir.
Targeting PDP leadership for its decision to boycott local elections, Baig said the party hasn’t lived up to its vision.
“I will see how the party reacts to my statement. I am hurt and disillusioned by the way the matters were handled by the PDP,” Baig, who is also co-founder of the PDP, responded to a question.
He said the PDP unwittingly fell into a trap by boycotting the polls.
Baig said that the formation of a third front should be encouraged “because people are looking for something new”.
“PC (Peoples Conference) has been like a home to me. For me Sajjad Lone has been like a son… if Sajjad Lone is interested …that there should be a third force that should emerge that could be considered…should be considered… he should be encouraged because people are looking for something new,” he said while responding to a question.
