Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party legislator Waheed Parra has questioned the Jammu Kashmir Service Selection Board for involving tainted ‘MeritTrac’ firm in conducting recent recruitment exams, questioning the transparency and fairness of the process. Taking to social media platform X, the legislator highlighted that MeritTrac, which faced backlash over fraudulent practices leading to the cancellation of exams in 2022, was again tasked with conducting exams for Junior Legal Assistant and Legal Assistant posts.
Unlike previous cases, these exams were not canceled, and their results were declared just days ago.
“MeritTrac, blacklisted by JKSSB and mentioned in a CBI FIR, conducted exams in 2022 that were canceled due to fraud. Why weren’t the Junior Legal Assistant and Legal Assistant exams canceled? Was the CBI consulted on this issue? Playing with the dreams of J&K’s youth, who are already under tremendous pressure, is unforgivable,” the legislator wrote.
In response, many netizens argued that allowing a blacklisted firm to oversee critical recruitment processes undermines public trust and raises doubts about the integrity of the results. [KNT]
