Parliament should not miss opportunity to resolve J&K situation : Bhim Singh

SRINAGAR: Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party said that it is for the first time that Prime Minister of Pakistan has openly declared that war is no resolution to resolve J&K situation and pleader for a dialogue between India & Pakistan.

“The Indian Kashmir Corps, Lt. General Bhat has expressed that bullets or suppression are no solution to resolve political problem in Jammu & Kashmir. He has conveyed that talks or dialogue or political means are the only way to resolve problems with the people”, he said.

Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of J&K National Panthers Party & Convenor of the Heart to Heart Talks of J&K Leadership welcomed the statements issued by Sportsman Prime Minister of Pakistan and courageous Lt. General Bhat which suggest that bullets nor prison/suppression are the way out to resolve the present turmoil in J&K.

Prof. Bhim Singh called on the Indian Parliament, which is meeting next week, to intervene without party – politics to resolve the political crisis in Jammu & Kashmir. NPP Supremo suggested that Parliament should extend all Fundamental Rights, mentioned in Chapter – III of the Constitution of India, so that all citizens of India residing in J&K shall get full benefit of Fundamental Rights. He also suggested that Parliament should amend Article 370 of the  Indian Constitution so that  three subjects namely Defence, Foreign Affairs & Communication etc. shall be brought under the direct jurisdiction of the Parliament as was offered by the then Ruler of Jammu & Kashmir, Maharaja Hari Singh on 26^th October, 1947.

Prof. Bhim Singh also suggested that Prime Minister of India should hold an urgent meeting with the representatives of all Recognized Political Parties including Hurriyat Conference.

Prof. Bhim Singh said that Prime Ministers of India & Pakistan must meet at the earliest in a one to one meeting anywhere, India or Pakistan or in any other country. He also suggested that all political prisoners in J&K arrested should be released forthwith and fresh elections to the Assembly should be held in J&K.
