Srinagar : A nocturnal gunfight has started between government forces and militants in Dhobi Mohalla area of Panthachowk of Srinagar outskirts in central Kashmir on Saturday late evening.

An official told news agency KDC that earlier bike borne militants fired some gun shots on a naka party of CRPF in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar.

Chasing the militants after firing incident a massive search operation was launched in the area.

Official said that the contact with the militants has been established and gunfight is underway. More details shall follow. (KDC)
