No evidence of community transmission, India’s fight against COVID-19 has been exemplary: Health Minister

Srinagar : Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that India’s fight against COVID-19 has been exemplary.
According to news agency KINS in an interview to a National News Channel, Dr Vardhan reiterated that there is no evidence of community transmission of COVID-19 in the country.
The minister said that the measures taken by the government have saved the country from Stage -3 transmission. On testing capacity, the Minister said, ten lakhs tests have benn conducted and the government is doing it in a very judicious manner.
He added that the government has planned to test one lakh samples per day.
He said, there are 130 hotspots districts in the country.
Recovery rate of COVID-19 patients improves to over 26% in country
Meanwhile in a tweet Health Minister said that the recovery rate of COVID-19 patients has improved to over 26 percent in the country.
“A total of 11, 706 people recovered after treatment and have been discharged from the hospitals.The total number of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 42, 533 while a total of 1373 deaths have been reported so far.With this, there are now 29, 453 active cases in the country” he said.
Dr Harsh Vardhan has urged people to observe the extended period of lockdown in letter and spirit and treat it as an effective intervention to cut down the chain of transmission of COVID-19. (KINS)
