SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) workers led by NC general Secretary National Conference and MLA Khanyar Ali Mohammad Sagar staged a protest outside the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s Gupkar residence in Srinagar against the recent Killings in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The party workers took a protest march from NC headquarter Nawabi Subhe Srinagar towards Governor house Raj Bawan Srinagar shouting anti-governmental slogans, adding that the protesters have now gathered outside the CM’s residence.

The workers said that government should wake up from its deep slumber, as the government didn’t worry about the killings in Kashmir. It should not waste further time in initiating a comprehensive and open-ended dialogue so that the Kashmir issue will be sorted out soon.

NC spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu said that Hindu Ekta Manch is trying to save the culprits involved in the case. “Two cabinet ministers Lal Singh and (Prakash) Ganga addressed the gathering of the Manch, which is shielding and supporting animals in human skins. Today’s protest is in solidarity with Jammu Muslims,” he said.

Party workers while talking to Press Trust of Kashmir said that the only situation of all problems is to solve Kashmir issue after that we are able to live peacefully in Kashmir. They added that in whole south Asia there will be no peace until Kashmir issue solved.

They added that New Delhi’s failure to acknowledge the problem in Kashmir as a political problem will have far reaching, adverse implications on the region in general and the State in particular.

Meanwhile, workers also protested against the delay in Kathua rape and murder case of eight year old Aifa Bano, who was raped and murdered in January after she went missing from her home on January 10. Asifa’s body was found on January 17. (PTK)
