Assault on Kashmiri student in Mohali College: Students continue their protest

Mohali: Kashmiri students continued to protest inside a college in Mohalli Punjab demanding arrest of culprits who assaulted a Kashmiri student a few days back.

Over 200 Kashmiri students assembled in the premises of Adesh Institute of Technology and Management in Mohalli, demanding action against the assailants who attacked a newly Kashmiri entrant inside the college.

The students carrying placards accused College administration of trying to hush up the matter.

Pertiently, Masroor Ahmed, a resident of Adigam Kokarnag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district got admission in the college a few days ago. When according to protesting students Masroor, 1st Semester student of BBA came out from hostel to fetch drinking water, he was attacked by unknown youth with knives. Masroor has received multiple injuries in his chest, head and arms.

Police has already registered an FIR and investigation is in motion. However, protesting students said that even after the expiry of five days, the culprits have not been arrested.

The victim in his police statement has said that one of the assailants was wearing a red turban.

A couple of students from the college informed CNS that they will continue their protest till the assailants are not arrested. (CNS)
