Srinagar: The Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama (MMU), a conglomerate of major religious bodies of Jammu & Kashmir here have called for maintaining peace and sectarian harmony.
Several religious clerics including Moulana Rehmatullah Mir Qasmi, Aga Syed Hassan Budgami, Moulana Ghulam Rasool Haami, Aga Syed Muhammad Haadi, Moulana Abbas Ansari, Mufti Yaqoob Baba and others delivered the Friday sermons today, who spoke the need and significance of unity among the Muslims at this juncture.
According to the call for unity was made by the MMU days after the controversy over statements, comments by some people and mourning ritual during Muharram by some members of the Shia community inside Khanqah of Mir Syed Ali Hamadani in Srinagar took place.
While delivering the Friday sermons today, the religious clerics, who are part of the MMU, have once appealed to the people to strengthen the unity amongst the Muslims in Jammu & Kashmir and ensure that no evil designs are allowed to create a wedge between the two communities in Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)
