SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that the Ramzan Ceasefire has brought ‘great relief’ to the people of Kashmir however militants are trying to sabotage the process.

In a tweet @MehboobaMufti said, “Even as we see the ceasefire bringing great relief to the people of J&K, militants seem to be continuing their violent activities & desperately trying to sabotage the process. I only hope that they realise the futility of their actions soon”.

On Tuesday, BJP’s Ram Madhav had said that the Government of India is willing to have a political dialogue with every section in Kashmir, including the Hurriyat.

He also added that New Delhi’s decision to invoke a temporary ceasefire in the Valley during Ramzan was a goodwill gesture but warned that if militancy persists, the government forces will have to respond appropriately.

Reacting to the dialogue offer to Hurriyat, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that it was major but needed U-turn. (PTK)
