Militants attack police station Shopian, kill cop, flee with his rifle

Shopian: Militants on Sunday morning shot dead a cop before fleeing with his service rifle in this south Kashmir district.
Early morning, a group of militants appeared outside the police station Shopian here and fired shots at the cop manning the main gate injuring him critically, official sources told Kashmir Reader. The militants hurriedly left the spot after decamping with the service rifle of the injured cop.

The injured policeman Saqib Mohiudin was taken to district hospital Shopian, where he succumbed to his injuries, they said.

Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched in the area to nab the attackers.
