‘We should vow to fight for our rights that were snatched last year’

Srinagar : Soon after being released from 14-month-long detention, the former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday termed August 05, 2019 decision by the government as undemocratic and unconstitutional and said that the decisions continued to haunt her during the detention period.
Mehbooba Mufti soon after being released, in a one minute and 23 second long audio message, said that August 05 decision continued to haunt her for the last over one year and said “I beleive that people across J&K are also going through the same situation.”
“Nobody amongst us can forget the day when everything was snatched from us,” she said, adding that “we should vow to fight for our rights that were snatched undemocratically and unconstitutionally by the central government on August 05, 2019. We should also continue our struggle for the Kashmir cause that has so far claimed thousands of lives.”
She said “I know the path is not easy but I belive that our resolve will help us in achieving the goal.”
She further said that as she has been released today, she would want that all those who are under detention in different jails should be released as well—(KNO)
