Says strict legal action to be initiated against those possessing invalid, fake passes
Srinagar: Amid rise in the positive cases of deadly Coronavius, the district police Srinagar on Saturday said that strict legal action will be initiated against the people possessing invalid and fake curfew passes.
Police in a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that that “the administration has issued curfew passes to employees of essential services to make the essential departments function in these tough times. However, there were some complaints about the curfew passes being copied or forged by some unscrupulous elements.
Following the complaints, police said to have laid various checking points in the City, confiscated more than 100 curfew passes from the people. “After verifying the veracity of these curfew passes, a good number of them were found invalid and forged,” police said.
Police said that anyone found in possession of a fake, forged and invalid curfew pass or attempts to produce such pass at any police checking point, shall be dealt severely under law.
Srinagar Police appealed people who have to attend to their duties or emergencies and have to move to and fro from Srinagar City to carry only valid curfew passes all the time of travel –(KNO)
