Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi hails Gojri writer for literary contribution

Ganderbal: Mohammad Manshah Khakhi hailing from Kachnambal village in Kangan is on cloud nine ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded his contribution in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address.

Khakhi, a member of the Gujjar Bakerwal community, faced numerous hurdles in his educational journey due to financial constraints. But his determination propelled him forward, enabling him to pursue education.

According to Khakhi’s journey involved travelling several kilometers on a daily basis to attend Government School in Ranthal and High School Soulki Kalakote.

He completed his Higher Secondary Education at Govt Higher Secondary School Kalakote in 1978 and subsequently graduated from MAM College Jammu.

He obtained an MA in Education from the University of Jammu in 1982.

Embarking on his professional journey as a teacher, Manshah later transitioned into the role of a Research Assistant in Gojri at the JK Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages. His substantial contributions to the literary domain culminated in his retirement as an Editor cum Cultural Officer from the esteemed institution.

Prime Minister Modi’s recognition during ‘Mann Ki Baat’ not only celebrates Manshah’s literary accomplishments but also acknowledges his perseverance and resilience.

Furthermore, PM Modi commended a young girl from Ganderbal for her outstanding academic performance, underscoring the significance of education and determination in surmounting challenges—(KNO)
