SRINAGAR : A man while repairing damaged wires near Badshah Bridge Srinagar was hit by an electric shock when department suddenly jointed the electric fuse in the area.
Identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat 37, of Abi Guppora Rainwari died on spot while as another one Zahoor Ahmad Bhat of same locality was referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where his condition is stated to be critical in a surgical ward.
Soon after the news spread that a man got electrocuted, a huge protests erupted near Badshah Bridge which resulted huge traffic gridlock for hours together.
Witness said that a labour was forced to maintain the damaged wires by concerned area JEE, and when Mushtaq fell down from a high pole he tried to escape in a car but locals gathered and tried to punish him. Little did locals know police we will come, who took the JEE in their car to prevent him from locals attack.
Bilal Ahmad who was accompanied with Mushtaq told that he has no know how of repairing transmission lines but was forcibly pushed to do this sort of work which resulted his death.
Pertinent to mention here that even after his death for one hour nobody reached except police to the sport even not an ambulance. However family has appealed Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to compensate us for the genuine justice.
